POST STROKE CONDITION

A stroke is a brain attack – a sudden interruption of blood flow to part of the brain causing it to stop working and eventually damaging brain cells. As a result, brain tissue is damaged or dies. A stroke is also known as a cerebrovascular accident.
SYMPTOMS
Stroke often occurs suddenly. Common symptoms may include:

  • sudden headache, vomiting,
  • sudden difficulty of speaking and consciousness,
  • loss of balance or difficulty controlling movements.

Sometimes the person has a complete loss of consciousness and convulsive seizures, the patient may fall into a coma.
In other cases, in the early stages of the disease, it appears by weakness, dizziness, blurred vision, or consciousness, numbness of the face, extremities, slight modifications of speech, loss of balance or coordination, severe headache. At occurrence of any of these symptoms it is necessary immediately to consult a doctor.
The consequences of stroke depend on the severity of brain damage and its localization. A stroke can causes permanent loss of function. Common long-term consequences include impaired vision or speech, sensitivity, vision, hearing, taste, smell, severe weakness or paralysis of limbs, mood swings, memory loss.
